OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Five members of the No. 19 Texas A&M softball team garnered Big 12 postseason awards, the conference office announced on Friday.

Even though the awards ceremony originally scheduled for Friday evening was cancelled due to inclement weather, junior Rhi Kliesing and freshman Alex Reynolds, freshman Lauren Schwirtlich were selected to the second team.

Kliesing was a unanimous, first-team selection and was recognized with the honor for the second straight year. Reynolds is also a two-time award winner. In addition, three freshmen is the most all-time that the Aggies have placed on the All-Big 12 teams.

Kliesing (Pearland, Texas) posts career numbers in every offensive category this season. She ranks sixth in the conference in batting average (.386) and has a team-best .388 average in Big 12 games. The Aggie first baseman is riding a seven-game hitting streak and has recorded 13 multiple-hit games and 17 multiple-RBI games this year.

May (Spring, Texas) is a two-time Big 12 Player of the Week and set A&M's single-season home run record (21 HR) and total bases record (140 TB) in her freshman campaign. She leads the league in six offensive categories and is ranked nationally in seven. The A&M catcher also hit the most home runs all-time by a freshman in Big 12 games only. May already ranks ninth on the Aggie career home run list and in the top 10 of numerous season records. She is hitting .412 with 61 hits, 59 RBIs, a .946 slugging percentage and a .567 on base percentage.

Reynolds (Tomball, Texas) is another Aggie that is having a career-best year at the plate. The third baseman tallies 16 multiple-hit games and nine multiple-RBI games with a .313 batting average, 45 hits, 11 doubles and 31 RBIs. She ranks second in the conference with 36 walks. Reynolds was honored on the All-Big 12 first team as a sophomore in 2008.

Dumezich (Whiting, Ind.) is a two-time Big 12 Pitcher of the Week and is currently on a nine-game winning streak in the circle. She struck out a career-high 11 against Kansas (March 28) and notched the game-winning, walk-off single against Texas (April 7). The Aggie pitcher, who plays second base when she is not in the circle, threw seven complete games and posted a 9-1 record in league play.

Schwirtlich (Corpus Christi, Texas) moved into the lead-off spot early in Big 12 action and since then the lefty-slapper has posted a .302 average with 19 hits. She plays second base and designated player and leads the Aggies with eight stolen bases. In addition, five of her six RBIs on the season have come in league games.

All-Big 12 and postseason honors are chosen in a vote by the league's head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players. This year's list had at least one student-athlete make either the first or second team from all 10 squads.
