COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Three members of the Texas A&M softball team were named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I Central All-Region team, the NFCA announced Thursday.

Junior Rhi Kliesing, freshman Meagan May and freshman Melissa Dumezich each received all-region first team honors. Each Aggie garnered the award for the first time in their career.

From Pearland, Texas, Kliesing was a unanimous All-Big 12 first-team selection and is having a career-best year in every offensive category. In addition to a .373 batting average, Kliesing adds 59 hits, 10 doubles, 11 home runs and 51 RBIs. A mainstay at first base, Kliesing recorded a career-high, nine-game hitting streak, blasted her first grand slam this season and has posted 13 multiple-hit and 17 multiple-RBI games.

May, a catcher from Spring, Texas, set the Texas A&M single season home run record and matched the same Big 12 record with 22 home runs this year. She earned All-Big 12 first team accolades and was named to the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament team after being selected Big 12 Player of the Week twice. May leads the league in six offensive categories and is ranked nationally in seven. She is hitting .411 with 62 hits, 16 doubles, 22 home runs, 60 RBIs, a .954 slugging percentage and a .570 on base percentage.

Dumezich, a Whiting, Ind., native, was named All-Big 12 second team, was a Big 12 All-Tournament team selection and was a two-time Big 12 Pitcher of the Week in her freshman campaign. She owns a 17-2 record in the circle, with four shutouts, and has held her opponents to one run six times. Dumezich posts a 2.10 ERA with 110 K's in 126.2 innings pitched. At the plate, she is hitting .261 with 40 hits, eight doubles, six home runs and 32 RBIs.

A total of 256 players from 116 different institutions comprise this season's regional teams, including first and second teams for each region.

The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each region, and all the honorees will now be eligible for selection to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America first, second or third teams.

The NFCA Division I All-American teams will be announced at 4 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, June 2.
