COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M senior quarterback Jerrod Johnson will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Houston Astros Friday, June 4 baseball game against the Chicago Cubs. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Johnson, a Humble High School product, pitched in high school as well as earning the Houston Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2005 in football and was an all-star basketball player as well. As a true freshman in Aggieland, Johnson played both football and basketball before concentrating on football after his freshman year.
           
Johnson already holds the Texas A&M career record for touchdown passes thrown with 53 career TD passes and needs just 929 yards to become the all-time leader in that category. He holds eight single-season school records including passing yards, touchdowns and total offense.
           
Johnson earned his undergraduate degree in kinesiology earlier in May 2010 and will continue his work on a master's degree in education as he helps prepare the Aggie football team for the 2010 campaign.
           
Johnson's mother, Pamela, is a longtime educator in the Houston area and his late father, Larry, was a coach and principal in the Houston area.
