Krajicek Moves Past First Round On USTA Pro Circuit

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M men's tennis All-American Austin Krajicek (pronounced CRY-check) recently moved past the first round in the singles main draw of the Allegheny Orthopaedic Associates Men's Futures Tournament held in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Krajicek, a senior left-hander from Brandon, Fla., defeated USC All-American Steve Johnson, 6-3, 7-5, in the opening round. He is currently ranked No. 926 in the world and is competing this summer as an amateur on the USTA Pro Circuit. Johnson was ranked as high as No. 1 in the nation in the Campbell/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings this past season, while Krajicek was ranked as high as No. 5.

Former three-time Aggie All-American Conor Pollock (2006-09) is the No. 8 seed in the 32-player singles draw and is ranked No. 739 in the world.
