COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M catcher and USA Softball Women's Futures National Team member Meagan May will not see USA Softball action for the remainder of the 2010 season.

May remains on the Futures roster, but did not make the trip to the Canadian Open Fast Pitch International Championship and exhibitions, July 7-14, due to injuries sustained in a June 27 car accident.

The Aggie All-American was in the hospital for a week before being released. She suffered a wound to her forehead and a concussion in the accident, but had no other major injuries. She is expected to return to softball in six months.

In addition to May's All-America honor in her freshman campaign at Texas A&M, she set the Aggie and Big 12 records with 24 home runs, and led the league in five other categories. May was also honored as a member of the Central All-Region first team, the All-Big 12 first team, the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament team, the NCAA Baton Rouge All-Regional team, and was a two-time Big 12 Player of the Week.
