COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M volleyball signee Heather Reynolds was named the MVP at the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 1A-3A All-Star Volleyball Match, played yesterday at Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas.
The 6-0 outside hitter from Wharton, Texas, posted a match-high 11 kills to led the East All-Stars to a 25-9, 25-16, 18-25, 20-25, 15-12 victory over the West All-Stars. Reynolds recorded four of her 11 kills in the deciding fifth set to clinch the victory.
Future Aggie teammate Ashley Vrana, a 5-11 outside hitter from Houston (Cypress Creek) was on the winning team in the TGCA 4A-5A All-Star match, as the East defeated the West, 25-19, 25-15, 25-19.
Reynolds, Vrana and the rest of the 2010 Texas A&M volleyball team report to campus August 8 and begin preseason workouts August 9. The Aggies open the season August 27 as they host the Texas A&M Invitational. LSU, Pacific and Siena will participate in the two-day tournament.
