COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M head football coach Mike Sherman put 103 players through a two-hour practice in shorts and helmets as the opening day of practice at the Coolidge grass practice fields south of Kyle Field took place on Monday.
"There were parts I liked," Sherman said. "And there were plenty of mistakes that need to be corrected, so I would say it was a pretty normal first day. I did see a few players step up, some players I noticed were Von Miller had the most consistent practice from period to period I have seen from him."
"For the first day, the defense forced more turnovers than I've seen in quite some time and that was good to see," Sherman said.
