UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Texas A&M golfers Andrea Pavan all had a strong second round on Tuesday and made the cut at the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championships outside of Seattle.

The field of 312 golfers was shaved to 64 for match play, which is seeded much like the NCAA basketball tournament in bracket format with the first round scheduled for Wednesday. Second and third rounds will take place on Thursday, with quarterfinals scheduled for Friday and semifinals on Saturday. The 36-hole match play final is set for Sunday.

Shindler, a senior all-region honoree from Coppell, shot a two-over-par 73 on the Chambers Bay course to bring his two-day total to a one-over-par 144 (71-73) and place him in a tie for 13th overall.

Peck, a sophomore All-American playing just a few miles from his hometown of Olympia, also shot a 73 at Chambers Bay Tuesday. He finished stroke play in a tie for 24th--one shot back of his Aggie teammate--with a two-over-par 145 (72-73).

Pavan, a native of Italy who completed his A&M eligibility this spring, fired a one-under 71 on The Home Course to bring his score to a four-over-par 147 (76-71) and place him in a tie for 40th.

47-year-old Jeff Wilson maintained his individual lead with a 74 at Chambers Bay. He finished stroke play 7-under at 136 (62-74).

Pairings for the first round of match play will be available Wednesday morning. Live hole-by-hole scoring will be available at usga.org and The Golf Channel will provide live two-hour coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m. (CT).
