COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M senior Alyssa Mautz was selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week, it was announced Monday.
A midfielder from O'Fallon, Mo., Mautz scored four goals and was key in the Aggie soccer team's victories over a pair of ranked opponents in the Aggieland Invitational.
Mautz recorded her second career hat trick, including scoring the game-winner against No. 16 Virginia Tech, and netted the decisive goal versus No. 21 Washington State.
In both matches, Mautz fired off a game-high and a career-high seven shots, including a career-best five shots on goal against Tech.
She led the Aggies on the weekend with eight points, 14 shots and seven shots on goal.
This is the first national honor for Mautz in her career as an Aggie. She was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week in 2008 and earned a spot on the All-Big 12 second team in 2009. Mautz was also a member of the U.S. U-20 Women's National team that won the 2008 FIFA U-20 World Cup Championship.
