SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Texas A&M outside hitter Kelsey Black was named to the JQH Invitational all-tournament team, announced today at the conclusion of the tournament at Missouri State's Hammons Student Center.

The junior from Amarillo, Texas, led the Aggies in total kills in all three matches, averaging 4.25 kills per set. She also averaged a team-leading 5.12 points and 0.33 aces per set as the Aggies went 1-2. She ranked second on the team with 2.58 digs per set.

Black recorded 20 kills and 12 digs in a 3-2 win against North Carolina and also had a career-high six blocks against the Tar Heels. She also posted a double-double in a 3-1 loss to tournament champion Ohio, tying a career high with 22 kills while also chipping in 15 digs.

For the season, Black is averaging 5.29 points, 4.27 kills, 2.46 digs and 0.77 aces per set.

Black and the Aggies (3-4) return to the court Sept. 10-11 for the Pioneer Invitational hosted by the University of Denver. A&M faces Jacksonville State, an NCAA tournament team in 2009, and Denver on Friday at 1 and 7 p.m. (CT), respectively, at Hamilton Gymnasium and concludes the tournament against Gonzaga at 5 p.m. (CT) on Saturday.

The tournament will conclude A&M's pre-conference season as the Aggies open Big 12 Conference play by hosting No. 2-ranked and three-time defending league champion Texas in the State Farm Lone Star Showdown on Thursday, Sept. 16. First serve is at 6:30 p.m. at Reed Arena.
