COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M's outdoor track and field schedule in 2011 will have the two-time defending national champion men's and women's teams competing against some of the top programs in the country on a weekly basis next spring.

The Aggies will visit the home track of national powers Arizona State, LSU and Florida in a four week span before testing their mettle in tradition-rich relay meets hosted by Texas and the University of Pennsylvania during the month of April.

After hosting the NCAA Indoor Championships in March, the Aggies will spend their spring break week in San Diego, California and compete in an Invitational hosted by San Diego State. Visits to Arizona State and LSU follow with a meet in Tempe, Arizona on the final weekend of March and then a meet in Baton Rouge on the first weekend of April.

Named the outstanding team during the Texas Relays the past two seasons, Texas A&M returns to Austin on April 6-9. The Aggies claimed nine victories on the final day of the Relays meet a year ago and totaled 10 for the weekend. Among four relay victories, A&M set Texas Relays records in a pair of races - the men's 4 x 200 (1:20.61) and the women's 4 x 100 (42.56).

The Florida Gators, with its men's team finishing runner-up to the Aggie men for the team title the past two years at the NCAA Championships, will host Texas A&M during the Tom Jones Invitational on April 16. Then Waco will be the site of the Michael Johnson Classic hosted by Baylor on April 23.

Establishing two collegiate records in the women's shuttle hurdle relay (52.50) and 4 x 200 relay (1:29.42) last year, the Aggies will be eager to showcase their prowess at the Penn Relay Carnival once again when they compete at historic Franklin Field from April 28-30.

The month of May moves Texas A&M into postseason mode with the Big 12 Championships on May 12-14 in Norman, Oklahoma. The Aggie women have claimed four consecutive conference outdoor team championships while the A&M men have finished in the top three the past three years with runner-up efforts in 2008 and 2009.

Following the NCAA West preliminary rounds on the weekend of May 27-28, the Aggies dual national champion title defense will take place on the blue track of Drake University, which is home to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. The NCAA Championships will be held from June 8-11.
