WASHINGTON D.C. - Texas A&M University track and field team arrived in Washington D.C. on Sunday afternoon and they visited the Lincoln Memorial as well as the Vietnam and Korean War Memorials that evening prior to a team dinner. On Monday the Aggies plan to visit the capitol prior to an afternoon reception with President Obama on the South Lawn of the White House where NCAA Champions from this past season are being honored.
This past June the Aggie track and field program became just the second program in Division I history to win consecutive men's and women's team titles, as they successfully defended their 2009 national championships. Texas A&M repeated a feat last accomplished 20 years ago by LSU, who were also coached by Pat Henry.
