COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The eight-time national champion Texas A&M equestrian team gears up for its season opener on Friday afternoon when the Aggies hold the Maroon and White scrimmage. Action gets underway at the Brazos County Expo Complex at 5 p.m. and admission is free.

The scrimmage will see all riders in each discipline--equitation on the flat, equitation over fences, horsemanship and reining--take to the competition arena.

A&M won its second consecutive western national championship last spring and fell to Georgia in a ride-off for the overall title. The Aggies open the regular season a week from Friday at Tennessee-Martin and will host SMU in the home opener on Sunday, Oct. 10.

The Expo Complex is located at 5827 Leonard Road in Bryan, just east of State Highway 47.
