COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M softball team hosts four games and travels to the Spring Klein College Classic for four contests to complete its eight-game fall slate, head coach Jo Evans announced Friday.

"I am looking forward to watching our team compete this fall," said Evans. "We are only allowed to play eight games, but it will give our young players a chance to put on the Aggie uniform and get a taste of collegiate competition. We have tremendous depth on our roster this year and lots of talent. It will be fun to see our team back on the field."

Team practices this fall are set to start on Monday, Sept. 20, and just nine days later, on Wednesday, Sept. 29, the Aggies play their first doubleheader together against Navarro beginning at 4 p.m.

The following weekend, A&M travels to the 18th annual Spring Klein College Classic. The Aggies face Houston and Southern Miss on Saturday, Oct. 2, and Louisiana-Lafayette and Galveston College on Sunday, Oct. 3.

A&M returns to the Aggie Softball Complex for a 6 p.m. contest against Blinn on Thursday, Oct. 7, and then takes on McLennan at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12.

The Aggies close out their fall competition with the annual Maroon & White Series Oct. 19-21, in which the team splits into two squads and competes for the honor of a best-of-three series.

A&M returns 11 letterwinners from a 2010 squad that made its ninth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship. The squad finished with a 44-16 record to mark the fifth 40-win season with Evans at the helm.

The Aggies saw five student-athletes garner All-Big 12 honors (Rhi Kliesing, Alex Reynolds, Lauren Schwirtlich) and three were selected to the central all-region team (Kliesing, May, Dumezich). A&M catcher May was also named an All-American, the 31st such award in Aggie softball history.

Texas A&M welcomes eight newcomers this season including Emily Albus (Brenham, Texas), Allison Garrett (Austin, Texas), Amber Garza (Missouri City, Texas ), Nicole Morgan (The Woodlands, Texas), Kaydee Rayburn (Waller, Texas), Taran Tyler (Katy, Texas), Cassie Tysarczyk (San Antonio, Texas) and sophomore transfer Brittany Walker (Tomball, Texas).
