COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M senior soccer player Kat Armstrong received her Aggie Ring at team practice last week in Portland, Ore.
From Dime Box, Texas, Armstrong maintains a 3.50 cumulative grade point average as a political science major and will graduate in December 2010. She is a two-time Texas A&M Outstanding Athletics Scholar.
The Aggie forward has seen action in eight games this season and scored her first career goal at Indiana on Sept. 10.
The Aggie Ring is the most visible symbol of the Aggie Network that connects Aggies around the world. Dating back over a hundred years, it is a tradition that is deep in symbolism. Every symbol represents values every Aggie should hold: Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect and Selfless Service.
Those that have earned the right to wear the Aggie Ring have cleared some of the toughest requirements in the country for a class ring; thus making it one of the most treasured items an Aggie possesses. The requirements were established by the Official Senior Ring Committee of 1933.
