Texas A&M senior Sarah Zwartynski fired a 3-under par 69 to highlight the Aggie women's golf team's opening round at the Tar Heel Invitational on Friday at the UNC Finley Golf Course.
       Zwartynski's round, which was the lowest round by any A&M individual this year, helped the Aggies to 4-over par 292, which was the team's lowest score of the season. The Aggies are in 10th place in the team standings, but are just four strokes out of third place.
       Alabama jumped out to a big lead at 11-under and are trailed by LSU (-3), Duke (E), Florida (E), Tulane (+1), Michigan State (+1), Virginia (+2), South Carolina (+3), Wake Forest (+3) and the Aggies (+4). Rounding out the team standings are Auburn, North Carolina, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Florida State, Denver, Louisville and North Carolina State.
       Zwartynski stands in a tie for fifth after playing a bogey-free round with three birdies. Sophomore Sarah Beth Davis is tied for 24th with an even par 72. Freshman Katerina Ruzickova contributed a 2-over 74 and is tied for 42nd. Freshman Chelsea Mocio added a 5-over 77 and is tied for 74th. In her A&M debut, freshman Natalie Reeves shot a 10-over 82 and is tied for 93rd.
       The Aggies will tee off at 9:30 a.m. (CT) from the 10th hole and will be paired with South Carolina and North Carolina State.
