Texas A&M junior All-American Amini Fonua shined at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, which were contested in New Delhi, India.
Fonua, from Ponsonby, Auckland, N.Z. and representing Tonga, advanced through the preliminaries and semifinals to reach the Championship final of the 50-meter breaststroke. He placed seventh with a time of 28.69.
Fonua advanced to the semifinals of the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.44. He also competed in the 50 freestyle (25.96) and 50 backstroke (28.07), but did not advance out of the preliminary round.
