COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The seventh-ranked Texas A&M soccer team goes on the road for a pair of Big 12 Conference matches at Iowa State and Missouri this weekend. Kick off against the Cyclones is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday and Sunday's match at Mizzou is televised nationally on ESPNU at 4 p.m.
The Aggies (11-3, 4-1 Big 12) enter the weekend hot off of three straight shutouts and have won five of their last six games. They are in the hunt for their 11th Big 12 Championship and sit in second place in the conference standings, just three points behind first-place and fifth-ranked Oklahoma State.
After getting its first Big 12 victory against Kansas, Iowa State (6-7-2, 1-4 Big 12) has dropped its last four matches and is hungry for a win on its home field.
Missouri (5-6-2, 3-2 Big 12) ranks fourth in the league standings and split last weekend winning 1-0 at Colorado and falling 4-2 at Nebraska.

ALL ABOUT A&M
After a pair of impressive shutout victories at home last weekend, the Aggies jumped three spots to No. 7 in the NSCAA/HendrickCars.com Top 25 Poll. A&M is 4-1 on the road this season and 2-0 as the visitor in league play. The last time A&M was on the road in the Big 12, they earned two, one-goal victories at Nebraska and Baylor. Including those games, the team has picked up four straight wins and won five of its last six, with four of those victories coming via the shutout. The Aggies have six clean sheets this season. Texas A&M leads the conference in seven offensive categories and also boasts the most shutouts in conference only games. The squad averages over 2.5 goals and nearly 22 shots per match.
Senior Mary Grace Schmidt have been anchoring the Aggie backline for the last four games. In those matches, A&M has given up just one goal, which was by the nation's leading point scorer Morgan Marlborough. The Aggies' opponents have averaged just 0.25 goals per game, compared to 1.00 for the entire season. Opponent shot percentage, shot on goal percentage and shots per game went down as well.
AGGIES TOP 10 IN THE POLLS
At No. 7 the Aggies have been a constant in the top 10 all season, starting the year ranked eighth and moving up as high as fifth. The Aggies entered the national polls during the 1995 season and have appeared in the top 25 every week since for the past 16 seasons!
STARTING LINEUPS
With a talented and deep roster, Texas A&M has used 11 different starting lineups in its first 14 games. Fifteen different players have started at least one game this season and only three players have started all 14 matches: Mautz, Mathias and Balaguer.
VOTE FOR SHIPLEY
Shipley was selected as one of 10 finalists for the prestigious Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. From Plano, Texas, Shipley was chosen by a national media committee from the list of 30 women's soccer candidates that were announced in August. She was the only finalist selected from a Big 12 institution. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to determine the winner of the award. Fans are encouraged to vote via seniorclassaward.com through November 14. Fan votes will be combined with media and coaches votes to determine the winner.
GOALS GALORE
The Aggies scored 26 goals in their first nine games, which was the most A&M scored in its first nine games since 2001 when it totaled the same figure. Mautz is having a career season, with 10 goals and 22 points, which are already higher than her previous two season totals as an Aggie.
AGGIES IN THE NCAA RANKINGS
In addition to the 14th-best scoring offense in the nation, Texas A&M has the 22nd best win-lost-tied percentage. Individually, Mautz ranks 17th with 10 goals and 27th with 0.71 goals per game.
AGGIES IN THE BIG 12
Texas A&M leads the Big 12 in shots (306), shots per game (21.9), points (107), points per game (7.64), goals per game (2.57), assists (35) and assists per game (2.50) and is third-best in goals (36). Mautz is second in the conference in game-winning goals (4), shots (64) and shots per game (4.57), and third-best in points (22), points per game (1.57), goals (10) and goals per game (0.71). Young matches Mautz with four game-winners and is third-best with seven assists and 0.50 assists per game. In league games only, Young leads the pack with three game-winners. Dyer posts the second-best goals against average (0.59), save percentage (.895) and second-most shutouts (4) in the Big 12.
LAST TIME OUT
The Aggies walked away with two shutout victories last weekend, blanking Baylor 2-0 with goals from Young (13th min) and Mautz (50th) and then following with a comfortable 4-0 win against Texas Tech. Young and Hooper netted goals in the first half, while Shipley scored a pair of goals in the second.
UP NEXT
The Aggies return to the Aggie Soccer Stadium next weekend for their final two home games of the regular season. Friday, Oct. 22 A&M faces Oklahoma at 7:30 p.m. for Senior Day before No. 5 Oklahoma State comes to Aggieland on Sunday, Oct. 24 for a 1:30 p.m. match.
