FRESNO, Calif. - The Texas A&M equestrian team is tied for second in the inaugural edition of the Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian Coaches Poll, released this week.
The Aggies (2-0) received 68 points in the balloting and are tied with Auburn. Defending national champion Georgia tops the poll, while Oklahoma State is in third. South Carolina is fourth, followed by TCU, Kansas State, Baylor, Fresno State, New Mexico State and Tennessee-Martin.
The collegiate coaches competing under the Varsity Equestrian Championship umbrella initiated the national poll. It will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2.
A&M is off until hosting the third-ranked Cowgirls next Saturday at the Brazos County Expo Complex. Show time is set for 10 a.m. and admission is free. The Aggies will then close out their homestand on Friday, Nov. 5 against No. 2 Auburn.
