The Texas A&M women's golf team will continue fall competition Sunday through Tuesday at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas. Five Aggie golfers will tee off in the first of three rounds on Sunday at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club starting at 11:00 a.m.
Comprising the lineup for A&M will be sophomore Sarah Beth Davis, freshman Chelsea Mocio, freshman Natalie Reeves, senior Sarah Zwartynski and freshman Katerina Ruzickova. Freshman Janell Lysack will also be traveling with the team and will compete as an individual.
14 schools, including A&M, will compete in the tournament, including four other Big 12 teams. Baylor, Kansas State, Nebraska and Colorado will represent the Big 12 conference alongside A&M.
The other schools competing are Notre Dame University, Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, Tulane University, the University of Central Florida, the University of Central Arkansas, the University of Tulsa, the University of Wisconsin and hosts University of Texas - San Antonio.
A&M is coming off a 13th place finish at the Tar Heel Invitational, where freshman Natalie Reeves fired a 1-under par to lead the team to a score of 291 in the second round, the team's lowest round of the year.
A&M head coach Trelle McCombs said with two months of practice under the team's belt, they will be looking to make a strong outing.
"Going into this event, we have been focusing on the individual development of each player and really trying to get each individual better," McCombs said. "With four other Big 12 teams in the tournament, it has been good to see that we have had little successes each time we practice."
