COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M men's tennis program, under the direction of head coach Steve Denton and assistant coach Bob McKinley, continues to impress this fall.
Senior All-American Austin Krajicek competed in the Natomas Men's Pro Tennis Tournament in Sacramento, California. After defeating Eric Roberson, 6-1, 6-2 in the opening round, Krajicek faced the #6 overall seed Blake Strode. Strode earned All-America honors at the University of Arkansas and the pair had a terrific match with Krajicek outlasting Strode, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (6). Krajicek lost in the next match to the #4 seed, Daniel Cox from Great Britian, 7-6 (6), 6-1.
In other professional tennis action, a pair of Aggies actually faced off in the Mayfair Men's Futures Tournament in Canada. Conor Pollock, who was an All-American and a four-year letterman (2006-09), was the #6 seed in the draw. Pollock won his first match against Joss Espasandin, 6-1, 7-6 (4) to face Brett Joelson in the second round. Joelson was a four-year letterman (2004-07) at A&M and he defeated Christopher Racz in the opening round, 7-5, 1-6, 7-5. The pair of Aggies faced each other in the second round and Pollock outlasted Joelson in the first set, 7-6 (4) and got on a roll in the second set to close out the match 6-0. Pollock faced the #1 seed Vasek Pospisil from Canada in the quarterfinals, dropping the match, 6-0, 6-2.

Current junior Colin Hoover continues to build on a productive summer by coming out and winning several matches in the D'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships in Tulsa. Hoover, from Memorial High School in Victoria, faced David Holland from Duke in the second round and Hoover won the match, 7-6 (8), 6-3 to advance to third round. Hoover defeated Fabio Biasion from the University of Denver, 6-1, 6-1. Hoover dropped the next match of the tournament to Peter Kobelt from Ohio State, 6-3, 6-2. Hoover advanced to face Zach White from Mississippi State late Monday and defeated White, 7-6 (3), 6-2. That sets up a Tuesday match against Calin Paar, the #4 overall seed, from the University of Nebraska.
