Men's Tennis Continues Hot Streak

The Aggie doubles team of Alberto Bautista and Colin Hoover defeated Clifford Marsland and Ashley Watling from the University of Tulsa, 9-8 (5) on Wednesday to advance to the main draw at the D'Novo

TULSA, OK - The Aggie doubles team of Alberto Bautista and Colin Hoover defeated Clifford Marsland and Ashley Watling from the University of Tulsa, 9-8 (5) on Wednesday to advance to the main draw at the D'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships.
               
"I was very proud of how Alberto and Colin competed today," Texas A&M men's head tennis coach Steve Denton said. "They were down a service break, 8-7, but fought back thru some very aggressive return play and against a doubles team with the home crowd behind them."
               
Bautista (McAllen, TX) and Hoover (Victoria, TX) will now advance to face the UCLA tandem of Amit Inbar and Nick Meister who are seeded fifth in the field. The match should start at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
               
The Aggie duo of Jeff Dadamo (Tampa, FL) and Austin Krajicek (Brandon, FL) is the fourth seed and will face a San Diego tandem of Dean Jackson and Patrick Pohlmann who survived the qualifying round by defeating the South Alabama duo on Wednesday, 8-5. The match is slated for 6 p.m. Thursday.
               
In singles play, senior All-American Krajicek is the 11th seed and will face Blaz Rola from Ohio State who advanced through the qualifying rounds. The match is slated to begin at 8 a.m. and the winner will face a second round match against the winner of Drew Courtney from Virginia and Louis Cant from Mississippi State around 12:30 p.m.

Dadamo will face the fifth-seeded Chase Buchanan from Ohio State in a match slated to begin at 10 a.m. The winner will face the survivor of Clifford Marsland from Tulsa and Ryne Williams from Tennessee at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
