COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Five members of the No. 6 Texas A&M soccer team received All-Big 12 honors, the conference office announced on Monday.

Seniors Rachel Shipley and Alyssa Mautz, juniors Bri Young and Merritt Mathias, and freshman Rachel Lenz were named to the All-Big 12 first team. This is the first time since 1996 that five Aggies have earned first-team accolades. Mathias and Lenz were also selected to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team.

Shipley (Plano, Texas) is a Lowe's Senior CLASS Award finalist. She is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection, and was named to the 2007 Big 12 All-Newcomer Team. This is the second time Shipley has been named to the All-Big 12 first team. This season she has received Big 12 Player of the Week accolades twice, along with three national weekly honors. Shipley records 23 points for the Aggies, with nine goals and five assists.

Mautz (O'Fallon, Mo.) leads the Aggie offense with 29 points on 12 goals and five assists. She posts a team-best five game-winning goals and 80 shots, with 29 on target. Mautz was named to the All-Big 12 second team in 2009 after transferring to A&M. She was named the NSCAA National Player of the Week in September and has earned Big 12 Player of the Week twice this season.

Young (Castle Pines North, Colo.) leads the team in assists (7) and shots on goal (36). She was selected in 2008 to the All-Big 12 second team, Big 12 All-Newcomer team and NSCAA/Adidas All-Central Region team. She was named a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week Oct. 13.

Mathias (Birmingham, Ala.) has earned the Big 12 Player of the Week honor twice since transferring to A&M this season. She posts nine goals, five assists, 29 points, and four game winners for the Aggies. Mathias has 69 shots, with 34 on goal.

Lenz (Round Rock, Texas) was the only freshman named to the All-Big 12 first team. She has led the Aggie backline in shutting out eight opponents and allowing only 18 goals this season. Offensively, Lenz has netted one goal and posts one assist for three points. She also records 13 shots with three on frame.
