COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 8 Texas A&M women's basketball team opens the regular season at home on Tuesday, Nov. 16 against Arkansas-Little Rock and hosts Honor Roll Night for local elementary school students.
"I'm glad we can give back to the community that gives so much support to us," said A&M head coach Gary Blair. "Coming out to a game is a fun experience for the whole family and I hope we can inspire the elementary school students to excel in the classroom as we excel on the basketball court."

Each honor roll student kindergarten through fifth grade in the Bryan-College Station community will receive a free ticket to the 7 p.m. game. Students must be accompanied by an adult and family members of the student have the option of purchasing tickets for only $3.
"The athletes at Texas A&M have always provided local students with solid role models, commented Chuck Glenewinkel, Director of Communications, CSISD. "There is a reason the word student comes first in the term 'student-athlete,' and the coaches and staff at Texas A&M instill this value not only to those they coach and teach, but to all students in the area. This program is another example of how Texas A&M helps support the local public school efforts."
"The Texas A&M athletic department has been a great partner with Bryan ISD in the past and the district is pleased to continue that relationship," said Sandy Farris, Director of Communications, Bryan ISD. Rewarding our Honor Roll students with a free ticket to the Aggie women's basketball game on Nov. 16 is proof that the A&M athletic department cares about academic success just as much as we do."
In addition, Nov. 16 is Junior Aggie Club Night at Kid's Court. All Junior Aggie Club kids will receive a free drawstring backpack at the Kid's Court.
Fans and kids of all ages should arrive early, as the Aggie women will receive their Big 12 Championship rings prior to the game.
Fans have one last chance to get a preview of this year's team prior to the regular season as A&M hosts its Maroon and White game at noon on Saturday, Nov. 13. Admission is free to the public. Prior to the game, members of Aggie Athletes Involved will be stationed outside of Reed Arena and will continue collecting coats and sweaters to benefit Twin City Mission.
Season and individual non-conference tickets are available for purchase online at www.12thmanfoundation.com, over the phone by calling 1-888-99 AGGIE or in person at the 12th Man Foundation Ticket Center.
