The Texas A&M men's and women's swimming and diving teams are both ranked in the Top-20 in the first issue of the Collegeswimming.com/CSCAA Division I dual meet rankings.

The A&M men's team is ranked No. 17 on the first poll of the 2010-2011 season, while the women's team comes in ranked at a solid No. 8.

The men have competed in just one event of the 2010-2011 season, the Southwest Collegiate Plunge, at which the Aggies took second place behind defending National Champions Texas. The Aggies notched here victories in the meet --- two by junior diver Grant Nel and one by sophomore swimmer Omar Enriquez.

The women have competed in a pair of dual meets in the 2010-2011 season, translating into a 1-1 record on the season thus far.  The Aggies' first meet, Oct. 26 against the Houston Cougars ended in a solid 183-101 victory for A&M in which swept all 16 events of the meet.

The Aggies then hosted rival Texas on Nov. 5 and dropped a 163-137 decision to the No. 3 ranked Longhorns.

The Aggies had five individual victories in the meet, three by swimmers and two in the diving well. Junior swimmer Rita Medrano posted victories in both the 100-yard and 200-yard butterflies and senior Lindsey King finished first in the 200-yard backstroke. Senor diver Jaele Patrick and junior diver Janie Potvin took first and second place for the Aggies in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events.
