COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 8 Texas A&M women's basketball team plays its Maroon and White game Saturday at Reed Arena. Tip time is set for noon and admission is free.
It will be the last chance for fans to get a look at the 2010-11 Aggies, who return 12 letterwinners and three starters from a 26-8 Big 12 Championship squad. It is also an opportunity to get a preview of newcomers Karla Gilbert (College Station, Texas), Kristen Grant (Arlington, Texas) and fans only chance to see sophomore transfer Kelsey Bone in action this year. The 2010 Southeastern Conference Newcomer of the Year must sit out the 2010-11 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
"We're going to play four 10-minute quarters and one is going to be against the men's' practice team," announced A&M head coach Gary Blair. "The scrimmage will be very well-contained on what we want to accomplish to try to get ready for UALR."
The Aggies host their season home opener against the Trojans on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Reed Arena.
