GAME PREVIEW
The No. 8-ranked Texas A&M women's basketball team ushers in another brand new season with a matchup against UALR on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Reed Arena. The Aggies and the Trojans tipoff at 7 p.m. A&M lost just two starters and returns 12 letterwinners to a squad that is full of talent to continue the programs' presence on the national stage. The Aggies are led by Preseason All-Big 12 selection and top returning player Tanisha Smith (123) and Sydney Carter (116).

AGGIES PICKED TO FINISH SECOND
A&M was selected to finish second in the Big 12 Conference Preseason Poll. Coming off if its third Big 12 Championship and fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance, the Aggies received one first-place vote with 109 points, listed only behind preseason favorite Baylor (121). A&M earned its highest spot in the preseason poll since the team was chosen as the preseason favorite in 2007-08. For the fifth consecutive year, the Aggies were picked among the top five teams in the league. A&M was the preseason favorite to win the regular-season title in 2007-08 (Big 12 postseason champion and NCAA Elite Eight), picked second in 2006-07 (Big 12 regular-season co-champion), fifth in 2008-09 (NCAA Sweet 16) and fourth last season (Big 12 postseason champion).
NOW BOARDING, ELITE STATUS MEMBERS
The Aggies earned their highest-ever preseason ranking ranked No. 8 in both the USA Today/ESPN Preseason Coaches' Poll and the Associated Press Top 25 Poll. Texas A&M is coming off of a 2009-10 season in which it recorded its fifth consecutive 20-win season under Blair and 10th overall in 36 all-time seasons of Aggie Basketball. The Aggies compiled a 26-8 overall record to mark the third-most wins in program history. The Aggies also turned in their fifth-straight 10-win season in Big 12 play and claimed their second-ever Big 12 postseason championship title next to 2008. A&M then made its seventh all-time NCAA Tournament appearance with the league's automatic bid and earned a program-best No. 2 seed for the third year in a row.

PRESEASON ACCOLADES ROLL IN FOR ADAMS
Leading up to the 2010-11 season, Adams (Kansas City, Mo.) has earned several preseason accolades. She was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Women's Basketball Team in addition to being named to the 2010-11 Naismith Preseason Watch List, the Wade Trophy Watch List, the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 30 List, and as a Preseason All-American by the Sporting News'. Adams, a 6-foot-1 combination forward/center, was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and to the All-Big 12 Second Team last season. She was also selected Most Outstanding Player of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship. Adams led the Aggies by averaging 16.3 points and 5.8 rebounds in 2009-10.
BONE ON BOARD
Former McDonald's High School All-American Kelsey Bone (Houston, Texas), a 6-foot-4 center out of Dulles High School, transferred from the University of South Carolina to Texas A&M and will sit out the 2010-11 season due to NCAA transfer rules. She will be eligible to play for the nationally-ranked Aggies during the 2011-12 campaign as a sophomore. The No. 2 overall prospect in the Class of 2009 by several scouting services, Bone is the fourth McDonald's All-American and highest-rated player to ever sign with A&M. During her freshman season for the Gamecocks, Bone became the first South Carolina player to be tabbed Southeastern Conference Newcomer of the Year. She also earned Second-Team All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman Team honors by the league's head coaches. In addition, she was recognized as Second-Team All-SEC by The Associated Press and First-Team Freshman All-America by Full Court Press.
