COLLEGE STATION, Texas--At the close of business today (Wednesday), the Texas A&M student body had pulled 25,734 tickets for the upcoming football game against 8th-ranked Nebraska on Saturday, Nov. 20 at Kyle Field. The old A&M record for three days was 23,205 for the 2007 Texas game.

Freshmen will begin pull at 7 a.m. on Thursday. If any tickets remain after the freshmen finish pull at 5 p.m. on Thursday, those tickets will go on sale to any Texas A&M student, with or without a sports card, beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday at the ticket windows located at the north end of Kyle Field.

The Aggies are trying to establish a new collegiate record for students actually attending a football game. The Texas A&M record of 28,100 was set for the Oklahoma game in 2002. In 2002, some 30,192 student season tickets were sold, but a small percentage of students did not claim their tickets for the Oklahoma game. Ohio State University holds approximately 30,000 seats for their students, but an actual drop count may not be available. The Horseshoe holds over 100,000 fans. The capacity at Kyle Field is 83,002 with additional space on the track surrounding the field. The record crowd at Kyle Field is currently 88,253 vs. Texas in 2007.

This game will also be the Maroon Out game with fans encouraged to wear Maroon. The very first Maroon Out game was played in 1998 with Texas A&M defeating the second-ranked Cornhuskers, 28-21, at Kyle Field.

Students entering the stadium will also have an opportunity to receive some 20,000 12th Man towels courtesy of Pepsi and Nationwide Insurance. The fact that Warren Barhorst, a former member of the 12th Man Kickoff team who made a tackle against Tim Brown and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the 1988 Cotton Bowl, works for Nationwide Insurance is purely coincidental.

All public tickets are sold out for this game Saturday against Nebraska. A crowd in excess of 88,000 is expected.
