Texas A&M's Grant Nel remained undefeated this season with a victory on the 3-meter springboard on the first day of the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday at the GT Aquatic Center.
Nel, a junior from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, had to fight off a strong challenge from Florida State senior Jordan Horsley, but emerged with the victory by less than a point, 362.90-361.95.
Already this season, Nel has swept the diving competitions at the Southwest Collegiate Plunge and in duals against Florida Atlantic, Indian River State College and Nova Southeastern.
Aggie junior Cam McLean, whose 2009-10 season was cut short by a shoulder injury, saw his first action of the season and posted a 276.15 point total but did not advance to the final.
