Texas A&M's Michael Hodges and Blane Cheatham received special recognition for perfect 4.0 grade point averages on the 2010 Academic All-Big 12 Football Team, the league office announced.
Hodges, a senior marketing major from Helotes, Texas, and Cheatham, a sophomore from Aledo, were honored along with 16 of their teammates on the 2010 team. Joining them on the squad were seniors Cody Beyer, Roger Holland, Anthony Vela, Derrick Stephens and Cody Williams, juniors Michael Ebbitt, sophomores Nick Trice, and redshirt freshman Hutson Prioleau.
Making the first team, which requires a 3.2 GPA or higher, were Beyer, Bredthauer, Cheatham, Eike, Epperson, Hodges, Holland, Tannehill, Terrell and Vela. Earning second-team recognition (3.00-3.19 GPA) were Bullock, Ebbitt, Lamothe, Nealy, Prioleau, Stephens, Trice and Williams.
