Dec. 2, 2010

Texas A&M's 9-3 season that included winning a share of the Big 12 South Division title was rewarded with 12 Aggies being named to the Associated Press 2010 All-Big 12 team, as selected by a panel of 20 sports writers who regularly cover the league for newspapers through the league's seven states.

The Aggies have accepted a bid to play in the 2011 AT&T Cotton Bowl in Dallas, and will go into the Jan. 7 contest with a Big 12-best six-game winning streak.

Leading the way was 2009 All-American Von Miller, who was a unanimous first-team selection at linebacker after being the league's top pass rusher for the second straight year. Miller was at his pass-rushing best against Big 12 with a league-high 8.5 takedowns in eight conference games in 2010. For the season, Miller made 59 tackles, including 9.5 QB sacks and 14.5 tackles for losses, and led the team with three forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles.

Earning spots on the second team were junior Lucas Patterson at defensive line and senior Michael Hodges at linebacker.

Receiving honorable mention All-Big 12 honors were senior Matt Allen at center, Gray as an all-purpose player, junior Tony Jerod-Eddie at defensive line, junior Garrick Williams at linebacker and sophomore Dustin Harris, junior Terrence Frederick, junior Coryell Judie and junior Trent Hunter at defensive back.
