
No. 16 Aggies Tie for Fifth at Central District Invitational

PARRISH, Fla. - The No. 16-ranked Texas A&M women's golf team closed with a seven-over-par 295 on Tuesday and tied for fifth at the Central District Invitational at River Wilderness Country Club.
The Aggies finished the 54-hole event at 34-over to tie with No. 12 LSU and No. 25 Ohio State. No. 18 Florida won the title with a score of seven-under to outdistance runner-up TCU (+22) by 29 strokes. No.4 Purdue was third (+25) and No. 10 Michigan State placed fourth (+31).
Finishing behind the Aggies were Arkansas (+36), Kent State (+40), Texas (+42), No. 22 South Carolina (+51), Northwestern (+51), Missouri (+55), Notre Dane (+57) and Michigan (+59).
Florida's Isabelle Lendl (74-67-71=212) and Marika Lendl (72-70-70=212) shared individual honors with four-under totals.
A&M's Julia Boland (73-73-75=221) and Ashley Freeman (72-81-74=227) tied for 31st, Chloe Garner (79-78-74=231) tied for 50th and Alexa Porter (81-79-80=240) placed 71st.
The Aggies' next tournament is the University of Central Florida Challenge March 1-2 in Sorrento, Fla
