
A&M's Patrick Finishes Third at Zones, Earns NCAA Berth

Texas A&M junior Jaele Patrick earned a bid to the 2010 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships with a third-place finish in the one-meter springboard at the Zone D Diving Regional on Friday at the Student Recreation Natatorium on the Texas A&M campus.
Patrick placed third with a combined prelims and finals total of 630.85 points, which trailed winner Anastasia Pozdniakova of Houston (683.55) and Kelci Bryant of Minnesota (664.80). Patrick, Pozdniakova and Bryant, along with fourth-place finisher Maren Taylor of Texas (564.15), all earned NCAA berths after the first day of women's diving at the Zone D meet. Patrick's entry brings A&M's NCAA Championships roster to 15 athletes.
Four Aggies reached the finals of the one-meter competition with sophomore Emily Watson taking 15th with 492.40. Senior Haley Haynes just missed the 18-person final group and finished 19th with 238.45.
