
A&M's Nel Punches NCAA Ticket With 3M Dive Win

Texas A&M sophomore diver Grant Nel earned his second straight trip to the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships with an impressive victory on the three-meter springboard at the NCAA Zone D Diving Regional on Friday at the Student Recreation Natatorium on the A&M campus.
Nel (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia), who was also the Big 12 Champion on the three-meter board, compiled a combined prelims and finals score of 828.20. Nel turned in an impressive 432.15 score in the prelims and followed with a 396.05 in the final. Nel placed ahead of a pair of Texas Longhorns in Matt Cooper (800.10) and Drew Livingston (791.95), who also gained their qualification to the NCAA Championships.
A&M senior Henry Stevens reach the Zone final and placed 18th with a score of 550.95.
