GAME PREVIEW
The No. 5 Texas A&M women's basketball team (11-1) closes out its non-conference slate and rings in the New Year against ULM (8-6) on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Reed Arena. Tipoff between the Aggies and the Warhawks is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT). A&M is coming off of a pair of victories that earned the team the San Diego Surf 'N Slam Classic title and is ready to start the year 2011 on a similar note. The Aggies are currently on a five-game winning streak since dropping their only loss of the season by two points at No. 5 Duke on Dec. 6. They look for their strong non-conference resume to pay dividends as Big 12 Conference play commences this weekend with Colorado on Jan. 8. INSIDE THE SERIES
The Aggies are 1-0 in the all-time series against ULM and last faced the Warhawks at Reed Arena on Dec. 17, 2003, when A&M picked up a 78-69 victory.

THE LAST TIME VS. ULM – Dec. 17. 2003
Tamea Scales scored a career high 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Texas A&M over Louisiana-Monroe, 78-69, in women's basketball Wednesday at Reed Arena in front of 1,334. The win marked the Aggies' fifth straight as they improve to 6-2 overall. ULM falls to 3-5. Scales, who made the first start of her career, scored seven of the Aggies' first 13 points. The foundation of the Aggies' game-plan changed when their leading scorer senior Toccara Williams suffered a left ankle injury with 11:54 to play in the first. She would not return. It marked the 92nd start of Williams' career and it was the first time that she played less than 20 minutes in a game. The Aggies continued to maintain the early lead in Williams' absence. They built a 12-point lead, 36-24, with 2:29 to play in the half before leading 36-30 at the break. Blair turned to freshman guard Jamila Ganter to fill in for Williams. Ganter finished with a career high 13 assists, the fifth most in a game in A&M history. Ganter posted eight rebounds that were all on the defensive end of the floor. The Aggies built their lead in the second half to 19 points, 72-53, with 5:28 to play. A late push by ULM saw them score nine points in the final 2:38 to pull within nine points. The Aggies posted their second best shooting percentage game of the season at 51.8 percent. They connected on a season high 29 field goals. A&M also made a season best 18 free throws on 26 attempts. The Aggies' Charlette Castile finished with a career-best matching 15 points and Classen posted 13. Mindy Garrison added 10. ULM was paced by Mindy Livaudais' 17 points and 11 rebounds, and by Nikki LaCour and Gerline Guillaume's 10 points. The Aggies blocked a season best matching nine shots … A&M scored a season high 36 first half points enroute to a season high 78 total points.

UP NEXT
Up next, the Aggies begin Big 12 play at home on Jan. 8 with Colorado. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. A&M then goes on a two-game road swing to Oklahoma State and Missouri.

FIVE STRAIGHT

A&M is averaging 88.0 points in its last five games, while outscoring its opponents by 34.4 points. The team has outrebounded its competition by 13.4 rebounds per game and held a +11.8 turnover margin. The Aggies started the year on a six-game streak.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
The 12th Man does make a difference. The Aggies have won 42 straight non-conference home games, dating back to a 40-46 loss to Houston on 12/30/03. In addition, A&M has won 74 of its last 81 home games.
