Two members of Mike Sherman's 2010 Texas A&M signing class received Freshman All-America honors after posting strong first seasons, the Football Writers Association of America announced on Monday.

Texas A&M true freshmen Luke Joeckel and Damontre Moore were selected to the team by a panel of 11 football beat writers from around the country. Representing the Big 12 Conference on the panel was Blair Kerkhoff of the Kansas City Star. Texas A&M was the only school with two players on the FWAA's squad.

Joeckel (Arlington, Texas), whose twin brother, Matt, redshirted for the Aggies in 2010, was an easy choice after winning the offensive tackle job during spring drills and starting all 13 games. With Joeckel as a cornerstone, the Aggie offensive front helped pave the way for 5744 yards of total offense and 3,599 passing, which were both No. 2 totals in school history. Joeckel enrolled at A&M last January and parlayed his daily battles in practice with Butkus Award winner Von Miller into a solid first season.

Moore (Rowlett, Texas) served as Miller's top backup at the Aggies' "joker" and turned in an impressive stat line of 40 tackles, including 5.5 QB sacks, and also contributed an interception and a team-high three forced fumbles. Moore was named National Defensive Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards after coming off the bench to make seven tackles, including two QB sacks and another tackle for loss of yardage in the Aggies 48-16 win over Louisiana Tech. Moore also forced three fumbles and recovered one against the Bulldogs.
