COLLEGE STATION, Texas - AggieAthletics.com teams up with SportsRadio 1150, The Zone, to broadcast every game of the 2011 Texas A&M softball season.
Fans will be able to listen to select games live locally on 1150 AM and internet broadcasts will be available at AggieAthletics.com or KZNE.com for all games. In addition, several games can be viewed via internet video broadcast on AggieAthletics.com.
"We are always proud to have the Texas A&M softball games on our station," Bryan Broadcasting General Manager Ben Downs said. "The team is one of the best in the nation, but we also enjoy the fun of helping them promote their games and the program. When you can associate with a winning team and still have fun, that's a great partnership."
Highlighted in The Zone's broadcast schedule is at least one game of almost every non-conference tournament, including the Aggies' opening weekend against Arizona (Feb. 12) and Bradley (Feb. 13). All games in the Cathedral City Classic will be aired, as well as two from the Bulldog Classic. Big 12 matchups to be broadcast include two-game series with Baylor (March 26-27), Texas (April 6, May 4), Missouri (April 9-10), Nebraska (April 16-17), Oklahoma (April 22-23), Kansas (April 30, May 1), Oklahoma State (May 7-8), and Texas Tech (May 13-14).
The Zone's program director, Louie Belina, will voice road game play-by-play. He will be joined by Texas A&M Director of Softball Operations, Amanda Scarborough.
"We are fortunate to be able to provide our fan base with the opportunity to follow our team throughout the season," head coach Jo Evans said. "We are playing a very tough schedule, so those fans who are not able to make it to the ballpark will still be able to catch some great softball over the airwaves."
SportsRadio 1150, The Zone, and its partner station, News/Talk 1620 WTAW, are the flagship stations for Texas A&M Athletics. Football, men's basketball, women's basketball and baseball are all aired on the stations, along with numerous weekly and daily Aggie coaches' shows.
