COLLEGE STATION, Texas -

The 22nd-ranked Texas A&M softball team (14-6) hosts UTSA (5-12) in a midweek matchup on Fish Camp Night, Wednesday at the Aggie Softball Complex at 6:30 p.m.

In 2009 when the Aggies hosted the Aggie Classic, A&M defeated UTSA 4-1 before performing a five-inning run rule over the Roadrunners on home runs by Taryn Broussard, Rhi Kliesing and Natalie Villarreal.

Texas A&M holds a 28-6 record against UTSA and has won the last 10 games against the Roadrunners, dating back to 2002.

FISH CAMP NIGHT
Wednesday is Fish Camp Night at the Aggie Softball Complex. Wear your Fish Camp t-shirt and get free admission! In addition, the first 150 fans wearing Fish Camp shirts will receive a free softball jersey. Bring your camps and support the Aggies as they take on UTSA!

PARKING
Parking is available for all home softball games in Lot 100 at Reed Arena and Olsen Field. Parking is free when there are no games at Reed or Olsen. During basketball and baseball games, parking will be $5. Arrive early to secure a space. For maps and schedules, log on to AggieAthletics.com.

LAST TIME OUT
The Aggies went 2-1 at the Bulldog Classic in Starkville, Miss., defeating Mississippi Valley State, 8-2, and Memphis, 1-0 in a nine-inning thriller, before falling to host Mississippi State, 7-3. Redshirt junior Lindsey Sisk allowed only two hits in the pitching duel vs. Memphis, throwing nine complete innings and fanning seven batters. Villarreal hit .364 on the weekend, going 4-for-11 with a home run and two stolen bases. Sophomore Mel Dumezich also tallied four hits, with one run and an RBI.

SCOUTING UTSA
The Roadrunners (5-12, 3-3) swept Northwestern State in three games at home this weekend in Southland Conference play. UTSA defeated the Lady Demons 4-0 and 2-1 on Saturday before clinching the sweep with a 5-4 victory on Sunday led by junior Caitlyn Ivy's three-run home run. Freshman Molly Fichtner leads the Roadrunners from the plate with a .457 batting average. She is 21-for-46 on the season with three doubles, a triple and a team-leading six home runs and 16 RBI. Right-handed pitcher Haylee Staton (2-4) posts a 4.26 ERA in 2011.The sophomore has struck out 17 batters and allowed 18 earned runs on 48 hits in 38 innings in the circle.

ON DECK
The Aggies host the Texas A&M Invitational this Friday through Sunday. San Diego State, Mississippi Valley State and Louisiana Tech will travel to College Station for the tournament. A&M will face San Diego State and Louisiana Tech on Friday at 3 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. The team will then take on Mississippi Valley State at 3 p.m. Saturday before facing San Diego State again at 5:15 p.m., and will close out the weekend with a 12:15 p.m. game Sunday against Louisiana Tech.

AGGIES IN THE POLLS
Texas A&M started the season ranked in the top 25 in both preseason national polls, and is currently ranked No. 24 by ESPN.com/USA Softball, and 22nd by USA Today/NFCA. A&M's remaining opponents appearing in the polls are No. 10/9 Oklahoma, No. 12/13 Texas, No. 16/20 Nebraska, No. 18/14 Missouri, No. 19/19 Texas Tech, No. 20/18 Oklahoma State, No. 23/22 Baylor and No. 25 Houston.

BIG 12 PRESEASON POLL
A&M was picked to finish fourth in the Big 12 Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Aggies received 54 points and finished behind preseason favorite Oklahoma (79), Missouri (71) and Texas (69). A&M was selected as the frontrunner for three consecutive years, from 2006-08, and was picked sixth last season. Oklahoma State placed fifth with 50 points, followed by Baylor (40), Texas Tech (33), Nebraska (26), Iowa State (15) and Kansas (13).

AGGIE SOFTBALL ON TV
The Aggies are one of four Big 12 teams to play in front of a national audience in 2011. A&M's contest against Texas on May 4 will air on FSN. The game is set for a 6:30 first pitch.
