BATON ROUGE, La. --- Armed with its first top 25 ranking of the year, the No. 25-ranked Texas A&M women's golf team will take on another strong field at the LSU Golf Classic Friday through Sunday at the University Club.

Strong finishes at the first two tournaments of 2011 pushed the Aggies from the mid-30s in the Golfstat ranking to No. 25 going into the LSU Golf Classic. The Aggies opened 2011 with a third-place finish at the Central District Invitational and head-to-head wins over seven teams ahead of them in the rankings. A week later, the Aggies took eighth place at the Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate and knocked off five teams ranked in the Golfstat Top 25.

"I'm excited to get back on the horse and see what we have," Aggie head coach Trelle McCombs said. "This is another great field for this young team to play against. I think they get more and more confident each time they tee it up. I feel like we are really close to putting all three rounds together."

McCombs will use of a lineup of senior Sarah Zwartynski (75.17 stroke average, 18 rounds), sophomore Susy Grunden (72.67, 3) and freshmen Katerina Ruzickova (73.50, 18), Chelsea Mocio (78.67, 18) and Natalie Reeves (75.92, 12) against the 21-team field at LSU, which includes eight top 25 teams: No. 1 Alabama, No. 4 LSU, No. 7 Virginia, No. 11 Tulane, No. 13 North Carolina, No. 17 Wake Forest, No. 18 Tennessee and No. 25 Texas A&M.
