BATON ROUGE, La. --- The No. 25 Texas A&M women's golf team continued its hot streak by surging to second place against another strong field at the LSU Golf Classic on Friday at the University Club.

The Aggies finished the day at 10-over and trail only No. 17 Wake Forest in the team standings. The Deacon Deacons fired a 6-over 294, and are trailed by the Aggies, No. 5 LSU (+12), No. 4 Duke (+12), No. 1 Alabama (+13), No. 7 Virginia (+13), Louisville (+15), No. 13 North Carolina (+16), Arkansas (+17) and No. 18 Tennessee (+17) among the top 10 teams.

"We played very solid up and down the lineup today," Aggie coach Trelle McCombs said. "I'm so proud of our patience on the course. That is our goal all tournament. The conditions were pretty benign. The wind wasn't close to as bad as it was for our practice round and the greens held a little better."

Scoring for the Aggies on Friday were sophomore Susy Grunden (+1), senior Sarah Zwartynski (+3) and the freshman duo of Katerina Ruzickova (+3) and Natalie Reeves (+3).

Grunden was solid throughout the round, offsetting two bogeys with a birdie and 15 pars on her way to a 73 and a tie for seventh in the individual standings. Zwartynski, Reeves and Ruzickova all fired rounds of 75 and are tied for 21st. Freshman Chelsea Mocio shot an 85 and is tied for 97th.

The Aggies will begin teeing off on the first hole at 10:15 a.m. and will be paired with LSU and Wake Forest.
