ATLANTA - Texas A&M senior Danielle Adams and junior Tyra White were named All-Region by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Wednesday.

The two Aggies were among 52 all-region selections across the nation. On, Monday, March 21, the State Farm Coaches' All-America Team selection committee will review these candidates and trim the list to 40 finalists, all of whom will be in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches' All-America Team.

A 6-foot-1 combination forward/center from Kansas City, Mo., Adams is now a two-time all-region selection and was tabbed a finalist for the State Farm Coaches' All-America Team a year ago. She garnered unanimous All-Big 12 First Team honors this season and was a member of the 2011 Big 12 All-Tournament Team. She is averaging a Big 12-best 22.7 points per game, which ranks sixth-best nationally, and a team-high 8.6 rebounds per game. Adams was the only five-time Big 12 Player of the Week in the league this season and was also selected to the John R. Wooden Award National Ballot on Monday.

White, a six-foot guard from Kansas City, Mo., is A&M's second-leading scorer (13.8 ppg) and best 3-point shooter (39 percent) who has started every game this season. She has reached double figures in 24 games, including five 20-point performances. This is her first all-region honor after being named to the All-Big 12 First Team and the Big 12 All-Tournament Team.

Adams and White were joined on the Region 5 list by Iowa State's Kelsey Bolte, Baylor's Brittney Griner, Melissa Jones and Odyssey Sims and Oklahoma's Danielle Robinson. Click here for a complete list of the WBCA All-Region selections.

The Aggies travel to Shreveport, La., for the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship First Round against McNeese State on Sunday, March 20 at 4:05 p.m. (CT).
