COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M women's team aims to remain perfect at home when the No. 26 Aggies play host to the Missouri Tigers on Sunday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center. First serve is slated for noon.
The Aggies improved to 6-0 in home matches, 7-3 overall, and evened their Big 12 Conference record at 1-1 with a 6-1 rout over Colorado on Friday. A&M swept the three doubles matches and then won five of the six singles matches in straight sets.
A&M is 16-1 in the all-time series against Missouri, having won the last eight meetings. Last year, the Aggies rallied from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Tigers, 4-3, at the Green Tennis Center indoor courts in Columbia.
Missouri, whose only win against the Aggies was in 2003, dropped to 8-4 overall and 0-2 in the Big 12 after getting shut out by Texas, 7-0, Friday in Austin. The No. 22 Longhorns won two of three doubles matches and all six singles matches, although three of the singles matches were decided in three sets.
Following Sunday's contest, the Aggies will be on the road for the next four matches. They do not return home until April 8, when they play host to Oklahoma, currently ranked No. 19 in the ITA national rankings.
General admission tickets for A&M home matches are $7 for adults and $4 for youth.
