COLLEGE STATION, Texas -
On a six-game winning streak, the No. 21 Texas A&M softball team (27-7) enters Big 12 play this weekend in a two-game series battle with No. 15 Baylor (26-4).
The Aggies play Saturday at 2 p.m. in Waco before hosting the Lady Bears at the Aggie Softball Complex, Sunday at 3 p.m. The teams also split sites in 2010 when the Aggies dropped a 2-3 heartbreaker in Waco before run-ruling Baylor, 11-1 in six innings at home. Bombs by Macie Morrow, sophomore Meagan May and senior Kelsey Spittler accounted for eight runs on the night.

LAST TIME OUT
After a 5-0 weekend at the USF The Game Tournament in Clearwater, Fla., the Aggies hosted Sam Houston State in a single game Wednesday, run-ruling the Bearkats 10-1 in five innings. Senior Rhi Kliesing was 3-for-3 on the night with her 13th home run of the season. Redshirt junior Lindsey Sisk (13-3) allowed only one run on five hits while fanning two batters in five complete innings for the win.
SCOUTING BAYLOR
The Lady Bears are 26-4 on the season. The team was 28-25 overall and was 6-12 (8th) in Big 12 play in 2010. Leading the Lady Bears in 2011 is Dani Leal. The senior is batting .378 with 28 hits in 74 at-bats, including four doubles, a triple and eight home runs. She also leads the team with 20 RBI and 58 total bases. Redshirt freshman Holly Holl is close behind with a .361 average, going 22-for-61 with five doubles and a team-leading 20 walks. The team posts a .301 cumulative average from the plate. Baylor boasts an effective pitching staff, with a 1.20 total ERA. Redshirt sophomore Whitney Canion (13-3) leads the hurlers, posting a 0.86 ERA in 10 complete appearances in the circle. The left-handed pitcher has thrown two shutouts and one save, striking out 137 batters in 97.1 innings of work and allowing only 12 earned runs on 58 hits. Canion garnered Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time in her career on March 15 after leading the Lady Bears to a series win at No. 4 Arizona, posting a 0.67 ERA on the week, and fanning 21 batters in 21 innings of work. A&M leads the all-time series against Baylor, 54-20-1.
MAY INJURED
May, a 2010 All-American, fractured her right middle finger Wednesday in the first inning of the game against SHSU. She will not be in the lineup against Baylor this weekend and is out indefinitely.
ON DECK
The Aggies remain at home next weekend to host Iowa State in another two-game conference series at the Aggie Softball Complex on Saturday and Sunday, April 2-3. First pitch on Saturday is set for 2 p.m., while Sunday's game will begin at noon.
AGGIES IN THE POLLS
Texas A&M started the season ranked in the top 25 in both preseason national polls, and is currently ranked No. 21 by ESPN.com/USA Softball, and 22nd by USA Today/NFCA. A&M's remaining opponents appearing in the polls are No. 8/10 Texas, No. 7/12 Oklahoma, No. 14/18 Nebraska, No. 13/16 Missouri, No. 15/17 Baylor, No. 17/18 Oklahoma State and No. 19/20 Texas Tech. In addition, Kansas is receiving votes.
BIG 12 PRESEASON POLL
A&M was picked to finish fourth in the Big 12 Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Aggies received 54 points and finished behind preseason favorite Oklahoma (79), Missouri (71) and Texas (69). A&M was selected as the frontrunner for three consecutive years, from 2006-08, and was picked sixth last season. Oklahoma State placed fifth with 50 points, followed by Baylor (40), Texas Tech (33), Nebraska (26), Iowa State (15) and Kansas (13).
AGGIE SOFTBALL ON TV
The Aggies' contest at home against Texas on May 4 will air live on FSN. The game is set for a 6:30 first pitch.
