ST LOUIS (USBWA) - Texas A&M's Danielle Adams garnered another postseason accolade as she was named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Women's All-America Team.

A native of Kansas City, Mo., Adams averages a team-leading 22.3 points and 8.6 rebounds and shoots 48 percent from the floor this season to lead the Aggies to a school-record 31 wins and their first Final Four appearance in 37 all-time season of women's basketball.

On Tuesday, Adams became the first A&M player to be selected to the Associated Press All-America First Team and is also the program's first USBWA All-American.

The 6-foot-1 combination forward/center adds the award to her quickly growing list that includes All-Big 12 First Team, Big 12 All-Tournament Team, State Farm Wade Trophy Finalist, State Farm All-America Finalist, Naismith Trophy Finalist, John R. Wooden Award Finalist and the NCAA Dallas Regional All-Tournament Team.

Adams has posted 15 double-doubles this season. She is the single season record holder for most points (801) and ranks seventh on the career list (1,340 pts). After A&M's NCAA Elite Eight game, Adams surpassed 500 rebounds and was just the 21st player in program history to do so. Moreover, she was only the second two-year player on the list.

Adams is one of 10 members selected for the prestigious All-America team. Joining her on the 2010-11 squad are Brittney Griner (Baylor), Amber Harris (Xavier), Shenise Johnson (Miami), Jantel Lavender (Ohio State), Maya Moore (Connecticut), Nnemkadi Ogwumike (Stanford), Jeanette Pohlen (Stanford), Shekinna Stricklen (Tennessee) and Courtney Vandersloot (Gonzaga).

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association, formed in 1956, has named a women's All-America team since the 1996-97 season. The association has also named a national player of the year since 1987-88 and a national coach of the year since 1989-90. In 2002-03, the USBWA initiated an award for the nation's top freshman.
