AUGUSTA, Ga. - Former Texas A&M standout Ryan Palmer shot a 6-under 282 this weekend to place 10th at the 2011 Masters Tournament at Augusta National.
Palmer, who graduated from A&M in 2000, posted the highest finish by an Aggie at The Masters in nearly a decade, as Jeff Maggert finished fifth back in 2003. Palmer was the third highest American finisher behind Tiger Woods (-10) and Bo Van Pelt (-8).
The Amarillo native took home a purse of $216,000 this weekend, bringing his yearly winnings to over $750,000 through just 10 events. This was Palmer's second top-10 finish of the year, as he placed fourth in late January at the Bob Hope Classic.
