Texas A&M golfer Katerina Ruzickova was named National Player of the Week by Golfweek after the freshman tallied the first victory of her collegiate career.
Ruzickova, from Ostrava, Czech Republic via Xavier (Ariz.) Prep, was victorious at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate April 4-5 at Half Moon Bay Golf Links in Half Moon Bay, Calif.
With the Aggies in a battle for the team title at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, Ruzickova rose to the occasion with a final round, three under par 69. She climbed from a tie for seventh after two rounds to win the tournament by two strokes at two-over. Ruzickova fired rounds of 73-76-69=218.
A highlight of Ruzickova's final round was an eagle-2 on the par-four sixth hole when she holed out from 125 yards out.
