COLLEGE STATION --- The Texas A&M football team will wrap up its 2011 Spring Drills with a variety of gridiron-related festivities on Parents' Weekend, culminating in the annual Maroon & White Game at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Kyle Field. The Aggies' annual spring football game is presented by Wells Fargo and Chastang Ford.
The Aggies are coming off a 9-4 season in 2010 that saw them earn a share of the Big 12 South Division crown and advance to the AT&T Cotton Bowl. The Aggies return 10 starters on offense and eight starters from the defensive side of the ball, and a total of 60 lettermen from 2010.
Among the other festivities planned are the Pigskin Palooza on Thursday and the Football Team Autograph Session on Saturday.
The Pigskin Palooza is an invitation from the Aggie football team to the Texas A&M student body to join them for the afternoon practice at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Kyle Field and then go through drills with the team at the end of the workout. The first 500 students inside Kyle Field will receive a free hamburger courtesy of Fuddruckers. Also, as an added incentive, students may enter a drawing for some cool Aggie Football prizes such as an Aggie helmet or sideline passes to a game in the fall. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m., and any students in attendance should watch practice from the track around the field.
The Football Team Autograph Session will run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium.
