TEMPLE, Texas - Texas A&M golf signee Ty Dunlap won the TAPPS Class 5A state championship in record fashion earlier this week at Wildflower Country Club.

Dunlap (Westlake, Texas), who attends Liberty Christian School in Argyle, broke a school record and TAPPS state tournament record for lowest two-round score with a 6-under 138 (70-68) to claim the title. He won the championship by six strokes after tying for the title last season.

Dunlap, who bested a field that included nine Division I signees, signed with the Aggies this past fall and will join the squad as a freshman next season.
