IRVING, Texas - Two Aggies were crowned Big 12 singles champions and one A&M doubles team earned championship honors by positions in men's tennis.

Senior All-American captain Austin Krajicek (Brandon, Florida) is the first Aggie tennis player to win a Big 12 singles title three times. Krajicek fashioned a 5-1 mark in Big 12 play at No. 1 singles, tying John Peers from Baylor. Krajicek defeated Peers, 7-6 (4), 6-3, last week in Waco in head-to-head competition. This marked the second straight year for Krajicek to earn the Big 12 No. 1 singles crown and the third year for the lefthander to win a Big 12 singles championship as he won in 2009 at the No. 2 line. Krajicek joins some prestigious Aggie company joining A&M legend Shuon Madden as a two-time Big 12 champion at No. 1 singles. Madden accomplished the feat in 2000 and 2001.

Junior Alexis Klegou (Dunkerque, France) was perfect in league play with a 6-0 overall mark which included a 4-0 record at the No. 4 singles and a 2-0 mark at No. 3 singles. Klegou takes over the crown that was won by teammate Alexey Grigorov (Moscow, Russia) in 2010.

The No. 3 doubles team of junior Colin Hoover (Victoria, Texas) and sophomore Alberto Bautista (McAllen, Texas) was crucial to A&M winning many doubles points throughout the season and during league play the Aggie duo put together a 4-2 record. Bautista and Hoover are the first No. 3 A&M doubles team to win the crown since the 2007 tandem of Bryan Wooten and Luka Ocvirk.

The Aggies open Big 12 Championship play today in Waco against Oklahoma State at 12 noon.
