COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Big 12 regular season title is on the line this weekend as the No. 11 Texas A&M baseball team renews its long-standing rivalry with No. 4 Texas in a three-game series to conclude the 2011 regular season. The opening game of the series will take place at Olsen Field at 6:35 p.m. Thursday before the series shifts to Austin's UFCU Disch-Falk Field for Friday and Saturday's games, both of which are slated for 6 p.m. starts.

The Aggies (38-16, 18-6 Big 12) enter the series with a one-game lead on the Longhorns (37-12, 17-7 Big 12) in the Big 12 standings and the race for the top seed in next week's Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship at RedHawks Field in Oklahoma City.

Friday's contest will be televised live on Fox College Sports, while the series finale can be seen on Fox Sports Net.

Texas leads the all-time series with Texas A&M, 232-120-5, and has won 17 of the last 20 meetings ... the Texas A&M/Texas rivalry is the longest running and most often played series in Aggie baseball history ... the teams will meet for the 358th time on Thursday in a series that dates back 107 years ... the Horns swept three regular season meetings from the Aggies a year ago, but Texas A&M got a measure of revenge by bouncing Texas from the Big 12 Tournament with a 9-3 win on May 29 ... 2011 will mark the 97th straight season that the teams have met on the baseball diamond ... the last time A&M and UT did not play baseball was in 1914 ... Texas is the Aggies' most common opponent at the Big 12 Championship (10 meetings) ... Texas is by far A&M's most common opponent of all time.

NOTES AND NOTABLES
• Junior pitcher John Stilson returns to the Aggies' weekend rotation after missing his last scheduled start against Nebraska. The right-hander is 5-1 with a 1.59 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 85 innings of work this season.

• Prior to Thursday's contest, Texas A&M baseball will honor the program's eight seniors (Gregg Alcazar, Andrew Collazo, Kevin Gonzalez, Joaquin Hinojosa, Kenny Jackson, Nick Fleece, Steve Martin and manager Jared Nelson)

• Sophomore outfielder Chris Russ accomplished the feat in 1999.

• On May 12, it was announced sophomore outfielder Tyler Naquin had been named to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team for the upcoming summer. He joins teammate Michael Wacha, who was named to the team on April 18.

• Freshman outfielder Krey Bratsen is currently on a eight-game hitting streak and is hitting .467 (14-for-30) during the run. His career high is a nine-game run from April 17-May 1.

No stranger to the national spotlight, the Aggies have had 41 of their games televised either regionally or nationally over the last four years.

Texas A&M is scheduled to make 11 regular-season TV appearances during the 2011 regular season.
FOX Sports Net will broadcast the final game of the annual Texas/Texas A&M showdown, scheduled for May 21 in Austin First pitch has been moved to 6 p.m.
